ARISE Student Scholarship Applications Open!

Applications are now open for the 2022 ARISE Student Scholarship!

This scholarship (one available; $10,000 paid in 2 parts) is available to students from an ARISE or QMEA partner school who finished Year 12 in 2022 and are undertaking a tertiary course of study in any Engineering field (Bachelor level) at an Australian University. Students who defer their University offer are ineligible to apply. Female students and First Nations students are encouraged to apply.

This scholarship has been made possible by our foundation partner – BHP and BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA).

How to apply

1. Download the ARISE Student Scholarship Information Pack and ARISE/QMEA Scholarships Declaration Form

2. Gather digital copies of

  • Your final Year 12 report card or statement of subjects and final grades awarded
  • Completed Scholarship Declaration Form
  • Proof of enrolment in a course of study of Engineering (Bachelor level) at an Australian University
  • Any other additional documents that may add value to the application and support the written components of your application

2022 ARISE Oresome Minds Camp - Applications Open

Applications are now open for the 2022 ARISE Oresome Minds Camp!

This is a unique opportunity for students in years 10 & 11 who are interested in pursuing a professional pathway (University Engineering, Science, Mathematics etc) after school, and have an interest in a career in the resources sector.

Students will work in small groups with industry professionals on a real world, industry based project.

Details

Dates: 4 – 9 December 2022

Location: Hunter Valley, New South Wales

There will be no costs associated with this camp as all participant travel, accommodation, food and site-specific PPE will be organised and provided by ARISE.

Industry & Innovation Teacher Tour 2022

This two-day program showcases the latest technological advancements in the resources sector, while also offering hands-on experiences that will add value to your classroom.

Dates

The tour will commence at 8:30am, Tuesday 29 November and will run until Wednesday 30 November. Teachers from QMEA partner schools also have the opportunity to also attend QMEA’s end of year breakfast celebrations on Thursday 1 December.

The tour will depart from and return to Brisbane CBD daily.

As this tour automatically secures you a seat at QMEA’s end of year breakfast celebrations, for those required back at school you may elect to depart earlier at the conclusion of Wednesday’s activities.

Funding

For teachers from regional schools and schools outside of Queensland, ARISE will book and pay for shared accommodation in Brisbane CBD.

ARISE will fund return flights to enable attendance.

Teachers and schools will be responsible for teacher release costs, transport connections before and after the program (e.g. taxi from Airport to Brisbane CBD), meals, and any other incidental costs.
